Money Drop Live is one of the famous Game Shows from Playtech. Money Drop Live is based on the really popular TV-Show in the UK, also known as The 100k Money Drop. The fun thing about this game is: It isn’t about winning money, it’s about keeping your money. This game is about taking risks and willing to lose everything. The higher the risk you’re willing to take, the more money you can win. The great thing about this game is that it’s interactive.
At Money Drop Live you can get a multiplier up to 5.000x, but this is not easy to get. You have to be very lucky to get a multiplier like that. This game is played with a normal Wheel with 54 segments, with 51 multipliers and 3 Card Clash segments. Those segments could lead to eight Money Games in total.
On this page we’re going to tell you everything about Money Drop Live. How you should play it and what strategies you can use. Interested? You can read about the following subject;
How does Money Drop Live work?
Understanding this game is not very easy. It has a lot of different possibilities and strategies. That’s why we will take you through the whole game and discuss possibilities. Money Drop Live is played with a gigantic wheel with 54 segments on it. We see these wheels also at games like Monopoly Live and Sweet Bonanza Candyland. 51 of these segments contain a multiplier which sends you to the Money Drop round. But 3 of the segments contain the Card Clash, which is another bonus round. The presenter will spin the wheel and you have to watch the outcome. Depending on your betting strategy you have two options:
- The Money Drop Rounds
- The Card Clash Bonus Game
The Money Drop Rounds could be familiar for some of you players. The first thing you need to do at Money Drop Live is betting on the segments you want. You can choose between 8x, 15x, 30x, 100x, 250x, 1000x, 2500 and Card Clash. When the wheel lands on one of the segments you’ve betted on you enter the Money Drop Round. You bet will be multiplied by one of the multipliers. So you start with a big amount of money, which is not yours! The player could divide a pile of money over 4 Drop Zones. Only 1 or 2 Drop Zones will stay, the other two or three will fall and you will lose that money. The player can decide how he divides the money over the 4 Drop Zones.
Money Drop Live Rounds
Let’s dive deeper into the Money Drop Rounds. If you qualify for the Money Drop Live Rounds you will enter an RNG game. You see 4 Dropping Zones: A, B, C and D. Depending on the multiplier you can decide to split your money over all the four zones or just one. This is the place where you need to keep as much money as possible. So you have to play it tactically, but also take a little risk.
You can also use the Auto Stack option. You choose the amount of Drop Zones you want to put your money on and the computer will divide your money over these Drop Zones.
For every multiplier you have different rules and Drop Rounds. Below we will give you the instruction for all the possible multipliers:
- 8x – You have to place your money in 1 Drop Zone. All or Nothing!
- 15x – Only 1 Drop Round. You can decide how you spread your money over the four Drop Zones
- 30x – Only 1 Drop Round. Also you can decide on which Drop Zones you want to put your money
- 100x – This is a 2 Drop Round Game. Now you have to decide how you’re going to split your money, but now you have two dropping games.
- 250x – This works the same as the 100x. You need to pass two dropping rounds.
- 1.000x – Now you have 3 Drop Rounds. Try to get the highest multiplier possible with 3 dropping zones.
- 2.500x – Also 3 Drop Rounds, but with an astonishing 2.500x!
It’s also possible to get a random 2x Multiplier. This means your initial multiplier will be doubled. For example, when you hit a 1000x it’s possible to get the 2x on top of the 1000x. You enter the Money Drop Rounds with a 2000x multiplier!
The Card Clash Round
Now we’re going to discuss the Card Clash game round. There are 3 segments that could lead you to this bonus round. This game is played with a single card deck. A player has to decide up front which side he’s going to choose, Blue or Pink. This will be your side for the rest of the bonus game.
3 rounds will be played by the dealer. Each side gets a card, so one for the Blue side and one for the Pink side. The highest card will win the round. Every round you win you get a higher multiplier. When the round is over you get your multiplier.
- 1 Win – 5x
- 2 Wins – 15x
- 3 Wins – 95x
A Tie is also possible of course. It could be very interesting to hit some Ties during the Card Clash game. Because a Tie is so rare they give good multipliers for that. 3 Ties will give both sides a 1000x multiplier! Below you can find all the different options with Ties in it.
- 1 Tie – 5x
- 1 Tie & 1 Win – 15x
- 2 Ties – 20x
- 2 Wins & 1 Tie – 25x
- 1 Win & 2 Ties – 30x
- 3 Ties – 1000x for each position
Drop Zone Side Bet
Didn’t you qualify for the main game? Don’t be sad, you can still play with the others. Playtech added a really interesting side bet option for the ones who didn’t bet on the multiplier. You can still guess the outcome of the Dropping Zones. You can place a bet on one of the Dropping Zones and if that zone ends up to be the Winning Zone, you win your side bet. The payout will be as follows:
- 2.9:1 on a One Zone Win
- 0.95:1 on a Two Zone Win.

Strategies for playing Money Drop Live
You can use different strategies to play Money Drop Live. It’s all about psychology and making the right choices. Playtech made a really great move by letting you see your potential winnings. Let’s say you hit for example the 2.500x and the 2x multiplier. You start with a 5.000x multiplier. This sounds too good to be true and 99.9% of the time it is. Imagine splitting the 5.000x over the 4 Drop Zones every round. You end up with a 78x, which is way lower in comparison to the initial 5.000x, but profit is profit. Smart players will play like this and see their balance growing over time. Players who hit for the big winners will lose much more.
Betting on Money Drop Live
There are in total 8 segments you can bet on. The question is, do you bet on all of them or do you pick just some of the betting options? When we look at the statistics and take a look at the dropping rate, a 8x has a 37.03% of hitting. The 15x has a 20.37% and the 30x a 11.11%, which are also One Drop Games. You have to ask yourself, do I want to bet on the 8x with a drop rate this low.
My opinion would be yes. The wheel will land most of the time on the 8x, so it would be boring if you miss this round every time it lands on an 8x. That’s why I always bet on all the 8 segments.
Strategies for Money Drop Rounds
It’s also important to know how you could play the Money Drop Rounds. That’s why we will discuss three different strategies for you. It’s up to you to decide which strategy you want to use, but I have my recommendations.
Keep it Slow – When you use the slow strategy you split your money at all times. You want to keep playing as long as possible. You can always decide to take a little more risk the last round, but you want to guarantee yourself some money.
Go Big or Go Home – You try to win the whole balance. Every round you have a 25% chance of picking the right Drop Zone. Is it possible to be lucky 3 times in a row? I don’t think so, so I would always recommend splitting when you have a big multiplier.
In Between – This is probably the best strategy you can use. It’s between the Slow and the Big strategy in. You try to guess the right Drop Zone by picking two or three of them. Maybe with a higher multiplier you can also decide to pick four Drop Zones first. This is my personal favorite and I think this will give you the best winning chances.
